A note from Dr. Holly:

It is a season of many things. It is a time for reflection, nourishing ourselves, slowing down, and spending time in meditation. Engaging in energy-building activities such as Qi Gong can also be very beneficial. However, we often don't allow ourselves to enjoy the slower pace.

Winter used to be one of my favorite seasons. Growing up, I have fond memories of joyfully playing outside with my brothers. Living far north, I recall the darkness of the short days even at a young age. As I moved further south, I realized that winters are not always full of snow and joy. The darkness and cold can become overwhelming, especially when the responsibilities of adulthood take over. Roads get icy, and we spend most, if not all, of our daylight hours in the office.

Many of us love to be active in the winter, but if we are not living in alignment, it can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be.

Let's explore ways to bring back the light and joy of winter, even amid the challenges.

This retreat was created to prepare us to have more joy this winter season and many to come! We will have time for conversation, creativity, meditation, and movement to nourish our mind, body, and emotions.

What to expect:

9:30-11:00 | Conversation & Knowledge 📖

Welcome to our interactive discussion on Seasonal Alignment & life-nourishing practices from the perspective of East Asian Medicine. In this session, we will delve into a holistic approach to well-being, exploring lifestyle habits, meditation techniques, and an introduction to Qi Gong. Together, we'll uncover how to harmonize our lives with the changing seasons, nurturing both our physical and spiritual selves. Join us on this journey of self-discovery and balance as we embrace the wisdom of East Asian Medicine.

11:00 - 12:00 | Movement 💃

Join us for a movement session where we will explore and practice movement meditation and Qi Gong. It's a fun and engaging way to reconnect our minds and bodies, experiencing both relaxation and energization simultaneously. Let's move together and feel the harmony of body and mind!

12:00 - 1:00 | Nourishment 🥗

Following our sessions, we will gather for a delightful lunch featuring cuisine from local original Enjoy Pure Foods. While savoring these delicious dishes, we'll take a moment to reflect on the insights gained during our earlier activities.

1:00 - 1:45 | Meditation 🧘‍♀️

Next, we invite you to embark on a guided meditation with us. No prior experience is necessary, as our expert instructor will guide you through this ancient practice that harmonizes mind and body. Prepare to unlock your inner energy and vitality through the art of meditation.

1:45 - 3:30 | Community & Creativity 👩‍🎨

Embracing creativity can help establish healthy mental patterns, and it's essential to recognize that each of us has our own unique creative style. That's what makes it exciting! During this session, we'll engage in lighthearted conversations about what we've learned, exchanging ideas on how to incorporate this newfound knowledge into our daily lives all while working with the Japanese art of  Kintsugi . Let's explore and enjoy the process together!
